Application Specification Description (ASD)

The element Application initially coming from the IEC 61850-7-6 introducing the idea of Basic Application Profiles. A BAP allows to formally describe, use and share applications as basic building blocks for the system specification. It also is an attempt to share common PAC functionality with others and thereby reduce the complexity with IEC 61850 engineering. In other words, with allows for a sort of profiling that can be shared with others.
