Grid Operations SIG 2024/11/20

During the first part of this meeting there was the annual review of FlexMeasures by Nicolas Höning from Seita.

The project has 2 start ups among its end users and a third which they are collaborating with. An official release of a version 1 of the software is on the talk but not ready yet. With a release once every other month, one of the key achievement they accomplished this year was a general improvement of the ability to configure the software to one’s specific needs.

This year they held their first developer training session with around 10 attendees which proved to be a great experience.

The project stated they were looking for more cooperation with other LFE projects. This annual review was to stay at the sandbox stage, it was said that the incubation stage was in sight for 2025. The TAC members of the SIG voted in favor of this.

The second part of the meeting tackled general questions about the role of the SIG. The annual reviews are to stay in the SIG however it has been questioned whether or not to hold the vote during a TAC meeting when a project aims to move up a maturation stage. The lack of attendance for the SIG has also been noted despite 2 emails thus the present members couldn’t decide on the position of chairman and vice-chairman. This point will be discussed in a meeting with all SIG leaders.
