Meter Event List

Meter Event List

List of Meter Events for Consideration

This list is not final. It is a working list for review and discussion

Working notes from 2025/6/3 meeting:

  • Need to define a semantic data model for events

  • Need to determine which events are mandatory

  • How does the GEISA environment what are the parameters that drove the event condition, when event thresholds are configurable? Does the GEISA app need to know at all? Could this be provided out-of-band? e.g. the utility configures the meter event threshold and also configures that same threshold on the app if necessary.

  • Are events streamed or simply available for retrieval? If we choose to support both, need to determine which events are streamed.

  • Events are “something happened.” “Normal” is not an event; however “Return to Normal” may be.

  • Generally, if a GEISA app needs something specific, it should be able to derive that from the raw data coming from the meter.

  • Should we have the ability for apps to request the event list? General agreement that we want this. Should we have filtering? By date range. Yes. By event type? No.

  • Event subscription and requesting historical events are two different calls / APIs.
