10 min | Reorganization of the biweekly meetings | Jonita | Why? The biweekly meetings are not well visited and do not serve their purpose. They are mostly used to solve problems in using OpenSTEF, but they could serve a larger purpose. Namely, to facilitate the community in cooperation. How? Ask parties currently working with OpenSTEF (RTE, RTE international, Shell, Vandebron, Firan) to prepare a very short presentation on their progress with OpenSTEF (~5 min). In these presentations, they might find they are working on similar things, or can help each other with hurdles they already figured out. As this does ask a bit of preparation of all parties, the frequency of the meetings might have to be altered to once every 4 weeks.
Decission: change the frequency to once every 4 weeks, and share that a little bit of sharing what everyone is working on is expected. |
10 min | FOSDEM | Jonas | Energy Devroom @FOSDEM2024 I'm excited to share that FOSDEM 2024 will take place on February 3rd and 4th in Brussels. This year, we're thrilled to continue the momentum with the Energy Devroom, following its successful first edition in 2023.
The theme for this year's Energy Devroom is "Reimagining the Energy Ecosystem through Open Source". We invite open source project communities within the energy sector to participate. It's a unique opportunity to present your projects, share experiences, and showcase thought leadership at FOSDEM.
For further details and if you are interested to submit a proposal for OpenSTEF, please visit the call for proposals page. Remember, the deadline for submissions is December 1st.
Jonita will submit a proposal for OpenSTEF.
On a related topic, Frank will submit something for CIRED |
10 min | Update on Outreach | All | - At Stanford there is a team of researchers working on an open-source tool called Neuralprophet for deep learning based time-series models: https://neuralprophet.com/. While the tool is generic, they have been working on energy applications & forecasting for MISO - the Midcontinent Independent System Operator in the US.

- Colleague of JM gives a presentation with an OpenSTEF mention this week, JM as well.
